Tech news:

Intel Drops Logo After 37 Years. Intel whose marketing made its computer chips a household name, is changing its logo for the first time in 37 years. The dropped ``e'' in Intel will be shed in favor of a swoop around the company's name with the tag line ``Leap Ahead.'' The ``Intel Inside'' phrase, a fixture since 1991, will be dropped, Santa Clara, California-based Intel said yesterday. Intel's image change, to coincide with next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is part of an effort by new Chief Executive Officer Paul Otellini to push Intel into home entertainment. The company, whose processors run more than 80 percent of personal computers, is trying to gain a foothold in the consumer market to counter slowing growth in PC chips.

Apple's .Mac bandwidth limit has been upgraded to 1Tb/Month. I'm not sure how long it's been like this, but the bandwidth limit on .Mac in 1024Gb/month.

Purchase downloadable content for your PSP. The PSP is certainly no stranger to playing movies. Movies on UMD are being released at a furious pace. The "homebrew" scene is ripe with options for getting content onto your all-in-one media wonder. But there haven't been a ton of options for downloading affordable, legal movies. That's starting to change with the debut of the 29MP4 Video Store. As you might expect the service works a bit like iTunes, but without the same level of polish or the same amount of content. Currently in beta, the store offers an initial selection of movies that cost $2.99 per download.

Ask A Geek: Chris wants to know how to get his music off his iPod and onto his computer.

Answer: You can use a program called Senuti. This was featured on The Geekcast episode 12 for the PC and episode 32 for the mac. Here's the text from that article.

Copy music from your iPod to your PC

Apple says the iPod is a one way transfer. That's a bunch of crap. Get your songs off the iPod by doing the following:

1. In Windows, turn on the ability to see hidden folders.
2. Mount your iPod in Disk Mode.
3. Open your iPod in My Computer.
4. Navigate to the folder iPod_Control\Music
5. Each folder listed will contain the music on your iPod. Change view to Details view to see the tag information.
6. Drag and drop the files from those folders to your PC and the copying will begin.

Copy songs from iPod to iTunes on a mac

Back on Geekcast #12, I showed you how to copy music from your iPod onto your PC. At the time I was still looking for a program that would allow you to do this on OsX. After some research, I have found Senuti, a small but great program to get those tunes off that small white box and onto that big white box.

When you launch Senuti with your iPod connected, you get a listing of all the playlists and songs on the iPod. By selecting the songs you want to get off there, and pressing the 'Copy Selected' button, the process will begin and the songs will now exist on your mac. When the copy process is finished, all the songs will be automatically added to iTunes, ready for your listening pleasure. If you aren't sure which songs you want to transfer, you can play the tracks from within Senuti to get an idea of which ones you want.

Senuti is a fantastic program that works great, matches the OsX interface and does its work seamlessly. Senuti is free, requires OsX 10.3 or higher and can be found at http://wbyoung.ambitiouslemon.com/senuti/
